We offer prospective clients a free meeting, where we visit your site to discuss your brief and explain the design and construction process. We will also outline what is involved in engaging us as your architects and explain the services we provide. Following this meeting we prepare a fee proposal for your perusal.
The design and construction of a project is broken down into a number of stages. Most clients request that we work with them through all stages of the project, from the initial concept design until construction is completed. However, we are happy to tailor the services to suit your needs, whether this means preparing feasibility studies or initial concepts, obtaining town planning approval, or helping you realise your project through to completion. A brief description of the stages are outlined below;
Visit the site and meet with you to establish your detailed brief and individual requirements. We then develop the concept or concepts to respond to your particular needs and the site location. We will produce drawings, sketches and images to clearly communicate the design and make sure you are happy before progressing any further.
We take the concept design and as the name suggests, develop it further. At this stage we begin to think in earnest about the materials and finishes and the quality of the spaces.
Preparing drawings and reports for town planning approval. We will often meet with council prior to submitting a town planning application to explain the design and gauge their response. Depending on the nature and scale of the project a planning application is not always required.
Here we produce a detailed set of drawings along with schedules and specifications that will enable a builder to price and then build your project.
We assist you in finding the best builder for your project. This may involve putting the project out to tender or negotiating with a preferred builder. We can also recommend trusted builders who we have worked with before.
We act as your ‘agent’ and guide you through the construction of your project. We respond to the builders queries, check progress regularly on site and review the builders invoices, so you don’t have to. This helps to make a sometimes unfamiliar and stressful process much easier.
